Fatal California accident kills 2 children, 2 adults

No one can truly understand what it feels like to lose a loved one unexpectedly unless it has happened to them. Sadly, however, families across the state of California and the entire country are confronted with tragedy every day, and too many are forced to deal with the sudden death of multiple family members and/or children.

While the identity of the four fatal accident victims were not yet provided, California Highway Patrol officers did confirm that two young boys died in a two-vehicle collision on an area highway near Fresno. A young woman that was riding in the car with the two children also reportedly succumbed to her injuries at the site of the accident. Of the two passengers riding in the other vehicle involved in the incident, one was treated for their injuries at an area hospital and the other died from their injuries at the accident site.

According to witnesses, the SUV struck the oncoming car after the car attempted to avoid the collision. The SUV crossed into the westbound lane of the highway in an attempt to pass another vehicle and allegedly continued to drive in the lane longer than necessary. It’s estimated that the SUV was moving at up to 70 mph when the incident occurred.

The drivers of the two vehicles were airlifted to an area hospital for medical treatment following the crash and the driver of the SUV was later arrested and charged with several serious offenses, including gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI.

While nothing can truly make up for the physical or emotional trauma of such an incident, filing wrongful death claims accounts for the extreme loss and continued needs of victims and their families in many cases.
