Young baby killed in dog attack

For countless families in Los Angeles, California, and other cities across the country, the family pet really is a member of the family. Many dog owners treat their beloved canines as they would any other loved one, and therefore afford them a large amount of freedom in the home. However, pet owners must never forget that their dogs are animals, and may be prone to impulsive or even aggressive behavior. One family is mourning the loss of their newest member, as the young baby girl recently died from dog bite injuries she allegedly sustained in her own home.

At the time the incident was reported on, Columbus, Ohio, prosecutors had yet to decide whether or not to file charges against the parents of a three-month-old girl killed recently by the family’s two dogs. The baby apparently just came home over the Thanksgiving holiday after spending the first three months of her life in the hospital after being born premature. She died in the hospital five days later after sustaining fatal dog bite injuries.

Law enforcement did not confirm whether or not the baby girl’s parents may face criminal charges in the incident. It was noted that the couple is devastated by the loss of their child. The couple reportedly conceived their daughter after trying for some time.

According to the dog shelter that currently has custody of the two dogs responsible for the fatal attack, the decision to euthanize the animals may come down to the court system or the victim’s parents themselves.
