Cause of fatal bike crash under investigation

Sadly, many California accident victims are never able to explain what happened or identify the person responsible for the incident. It only takes an instant for a serious accident to occur, and sometimes victims do not survive. Determining the cause of a fatal bicycle accident can be especially difficult in instances where there are no eyewitnesses and/or little physical evidence to go by. Investigators are currently working to understand how and why a bicyclist was killed recently.

The tragic incident took place in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in the early hours of a weekday morning. The bicyclist was reportedly found in lying in an intersection. Though, investigators did not know the exact time of the incident occurred. At the time of being reported, it was not apparent that any eyewitnesses had come forward. As a result, investigators were requesting the help of anyone that may know the victim or what happened. Authorities were also hoping to gain valuable insight into the case by reviewing the footage from area surveillance cameras.

Homicide unit investigators were involved in the case because an official cause for the fatal bicycle accident was not yet known. Several possibilities were being considered, one of which being that the bicyclist may have been struck by a car. Even though several factors were still in the process of being investigated, it was reportedly determined that the man did die as a result of the injuries he sustained in the incident.

If investigators are not able to identify how the fatal incident occurred, they may have an exceedingly difficult time determining if anyone else may have been involved.
