2 injured in California car accident, 1 man killed trying to help

When someone makes the decision to drive a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, they are putting not only their own lives at risk but also the lives of everyone else on the road. They have no way of knowing who they may injure and what consequences may arrive as a result of their unwise and illegal choice. In California, a driver who was allegedly under the influence set off a fateful chain of events that no one could have predicted.

A 25-year-old man is facing felony DUI charges causing injuries and driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit of .08 percent. Around 2:40 on a Sunday morning, the man was involved in a car accident with a 1998 Toyota that sent two women to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Toyota lost control of his vehicle when he was hit from behind by a 2013 Honda. Local authorities report that the Toyota hit the center divider on California’s Interstate 280.

Driving past the scene of the accident, a man in 2007 Jeep pulled his vehicle over to the side of the road to help. As he was crossing traffic lanes to aid the car accident victims, however, tragedy struck. The unidentified man was hit by an 18-year-old driver in a 2011 Infiniti SUV. The driver of the Jeep was killed.

If you have been injured in a drunk driving accident, you may be entitled to compensation for damages and pain and suffering. A lawyer may be of assistance in this area.
