Family seeks identity of suspect in hit-and run crash

The family and friends of a motorcycle rider injured in a California hit-and-run accident are asking the public for help in identifying the driver that left the scene of the crash. The 58-year old motorcycle rider was badly injured in the motorcycle accident as he suffered eight broken ribs, a collapsed lung, broken scapula and broken elbow.

The accident occurred at 10:00 in the morning. Apparently, a woman in a 4-door Honda attempted to pass the motorcycle rider, but in the process of passing this individual ended up striking the motorcycle.

Those close to the rider are trying to make sense of why the driver left the scene of the accident. "We do not know if the driver is aware of the injuries she caused by her carelessness in trying to pass him, hitting him and driving away," a friend stated.

Hit and run accidents cause a number of legal complications. If a party responsible for an injury can be located, that person and that person's insurance company may be held accountable. But when a party leaves the scene it is not always legally clear who should ultimately end up paying for damages.

Victims and their family members often do not know their options when such an accident occurs. However, lawyers experienced in the area of personal injury usually can make an adequate determination as to what might compensate a victim or their family for an accident such as the one mentioned above.

That carelessness was likely to blame for this accident is only part of the story. That drivers such as those involved in the incident would rather flee than assist an injured individual is what's truly disturbing about what happened here.
