Los Angeles area hit-and-run takes life of bicycle rider

A cyclist was killed in the Los Angeles area recently following a hit-and-run accident. The bicycle accident came about when the bicycle the woman was riding was struck by a pickup truck in the Santa Monica area. Witnesses stated that the pickup truck continued driving after striking the rider, and that the pickup truck was last seen driving onto the Highway 10 Freeway.

The 30-year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. As a result of the crash, the freeway was closed for a number of hours while police attempted to make a determination as to precisely how the accident occurred.

Hit-and-run accidents cause unnecessary complications for individuals that have lost family members in this manner. The deceased individual may have had children or been a caregiver for an elderly parent. Any number of individuals may have been dependent upon this person for their financial and emotional well being.

The family of a deceased relative killed in a hit-and-run accident probably will need to take advantage of every legal opportunity available to them. Attorneys practiced in the area of personal injury and wrongful death may need to be consulted in order because such attorneys can locate resources to investigate such an accident, and law firms can also provide independent representation that such family members need.

Financial compensation cannot make up for the loss of a loved one - especially when the loved one is only 30-years old, but such compensation can help family members pay off medical and funeral expenses and possibly help the children of such individuals receive support for education and care.
